Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th 1983. She is an American actress, producer, and director. Her debut film was Purple People Eater (1988) and was the recipient of the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Artistress under nine years old". Birch was a big star when she was an infant with films like All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive an BAFTA nomination. After that, she starred in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for her role as the lead character in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. Birch also starred on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also the Whisperer Mary/Gamma during the season 10 episode of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch is German-Jewish, Scandinavian and French-Canadian in her ancestry. [6] Thora is her birth name. It derives from the Norse god Thor which means thunder and lightning. If she were a boy she would have had her full name. Kian Bolt Birch who is her younger brother, is also her mother. Both are former adult film actors and were both part of Deep Throat. They were hesitant to promote Thora due to their previous experience in the industry of entertainment. However, the babysitter noticed Thora mimicking commercials and convinced them to display Thora's photo to agents. Birch had her first big break at four, when the babysitter accompanied her to a successful audition for the Quaker Oats commercial.
