Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay is a Californian born in Long Beach, California on the 24th of August, 1972. DuVernay was able to explore her creative and artistic side as a child, thanks to Aunt Denise. The aunt worked as an overnight nursing assistant in order to provide her with the chance to learn about art and literature, or even theater. DuVernay was a fan of the movie West Side Story, which she introduced to her. DuVernay learned by example that art could be an instrument for social activism. DuVernay was raised by a mother who was socially aware and showed her how to utilize art as a method to express herself. Even though DuVernay grew up living in Compton with her family, she spent every summer in Lowndes County Alabama where her parents lived for many generations. DuVernay's Dad recalled seeing the historic civil right's march along the Edmund Pettus Bridge near the town of Selma Alabama. The summers she spent in Alabama's Selma would be the inspiration for her later the film about the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay completed Saint Joseph High School at Lakewood in California in the year 1990. DuVernay enrolled at the University of California Los Angeles following her graduation, and was awarded diplomas in English as well as African American Studies. DuVernay discovered a passion for broadcast journalism as a student. Her first job was as an intern for CBS News during the O.J. Simpson's trial. DuVernay was assigned to the monitor and investigate the residence of an individual juror. The tasks that she had to accomplish left her unsatisfied and so, after deciding not to pursue a career in journalism, she moved on to the world of publicity. DuVernay began her professional career as a junior public relations assistant in a tiny film studio shortly after she graduated from the college. The year 1999 was the time she launched her own firm that specialized in public relations, The DuVernay Agency. Alongside PR, the agency has launched lifestyle networks and promotional campaigns, such as the Urban Beauty Collective. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley was born under the sign of. She is famous for her roles on American Experience, (1987) A More Perfect Union and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn was in the role in the roles of Rose and Anna Payne for A More Perfect Union.
