Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. While living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the industry of restaurants by registering in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful learning experience for me. I could not study or accomplish enough. Following graduation of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy the chef gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children living with obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels across the nation in her mentorship task. Anne has stated during her career in the kitchen she is incredibly fortunate to be able communicate with people what is truly important for her.
