Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in
Katy, Texas on April 25 in 1969. Her mother, Kjellfrid (Andreassen) is a former
nurse and midwife from Norway, Kven (Finnish), and also has Swedish and
Norwegian descent. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is an engineer from
Switzerland. The couple got married in 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother
and was born on 15 February 1967. When she was working at the drama group,
Renee became interested in acting. In Austin, she also attended an acting class
, and began to consider acting as a career. After graduating, she wanted to go
back to acting, but Hollywood is a difficult town to break into, so Renee chose
to remain in Texas and attempted to audition for roles in Houston which she was
able to grab roles in such movies as Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records
(1995). Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her pal while
she was working on the set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation
(1994). Renee was aware that he was working on a project and auditioned. The
role was given to her in Love , and an offer of a 45 (1994). The film was a
huge success and earned her the respect of many that she moved to Los Angeles.
Her breakthrough came from another part in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron
Crowe was busy casting his next film Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise.
Crowe was taking a look at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when
he saw Zellweger's performance on The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned
Zellweger to ensure that he was his Dorothy Boyd. Renee followed her huge
success with a handful of small independent films and after receiving more
praise from critics she was confident enough to return to the realm of
large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep was the co-star in One True Thing
(1998). She also appeared alongside Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene (2000)
and began to meet Jim Carrey soon afterward. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
