Sarah Hyland
was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James
Hyland (New York City). She started her career in the industry at the age of 4
with commercial work as well as voice-overs. Private Parts (1997) was her first
film. After that, she starred in The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by
time on Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" as a child found in the
park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah was to work with Amy Carlson
("Josie") a few more times: Falcone (2000). Law & Order
(1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast to portray
the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Lovehewitt's The Audrey
Hepburn Story (2001). The following year, she was also named "Molly"
in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). The show starred Kathy
Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth and JoeGould's Secret
(2000), and Falcone (2000). Sarah took classes in jazz, hip hop, tap, Theatre
Dance and voice. She also performed in her tap class and Theatre class at
"Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was
born in New York and raised in New York. Her homeschooling was provided by her
mom until 2nd grade, and then went to Public School. In the 6th grade she was
accepted to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) where she stayed until
she graduated in. Sarah who was 18, relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she got
as a pilot under the name "My American Family". After being accepted
by the airline, the pilot's name changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah
currently portrays Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009)
was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
