Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora (British singer-songwriter) is her name. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari), and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the grandchild of director Besim Sahatciu. When she was just one, her family took the decision to relocate to England. She was raised in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she was accepted into Sylvia Young Theatre School and later St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing in the early years of her life. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision Your Country needs You (BBC One) She was selected to represent the United Kingdom in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She eventually walked out of the contest after several episodes, as she felt that the stage was not ready. Ora made her debut music in 2007 when she appeared on Craig David’s song entitled "Awkward" followed by another appearance on "Where’s Your Love" featuring TinchyStryder. Ora began to sing in bars in London. A few days after, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z The A&R team informed Roc Nation about Ora. Ora was in Jay-Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever" and "Over" from Drake. Ora was noticed by Jay-Z and he quickly signed her to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in an advertisement for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the proprietor of a pub and she began her career as a singer from the same pub. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her demeanor. She also mentions her father, Besnik, who was a pub owner. Friends with Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
