Danielle Riley
Keough is an American actress. She was born in Santa Monica (California) to
musicians Lisa Marie Presley & Danny Keough she is the grandchild of
the actress Priscilla Presley, as well as the singer Elvis Presley. Keough was
raised by her father in Hawaii and Los Angeles, and additionally resided with
her mother in California and Tennessee. At age 15, she began modeling, which
included appearances at fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian
Dior and appearing on the cover of Vogue. The first time she appeared in a
feature film was at the age of 20 when she starred in a supporting role in the
film Marie Currie in The Runaways (2010). Following The Good Doctor (2011)
Keough was a part of Jack & Diane (2012). She was later cast as a small
part in Steven Soderbergh's comedy Magic Mike (2012). In 2012, Keough appeared
in Yellow and Kiss of the Damned. Then, she appeared in the action movie Mad
Max: Fury Road (2015). It was the fourth installment of the Mad Max series. In
2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as a law student-turned-escort in the
first season of the anthology series The Girlfriend Experience,
executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009 film of the same name.
She received critical praise for her character, and received a Golden Globe
Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or
Motion Picture Made for Television. Keough's performance as a lost young woman
in American Honey (2017) garnered the same praise and an Independent Spirit
Award nomination. Keough played a role in the 2017 apocalyptic-themed horror
film It Comes at Night. She also appeared with Soderbergh in Logan Lucky, his
heist film. This was followed by roles in a variety of horror and thriller
films in 2018, including Lars von Trier’s The House That Jack Built and the
neonoir Under the Silver Lake. In the year 2019, Keough starred as the leading
character in the psychological horror film The Lodge, followed by another lead
role in the comedy-drama Zola (2020). Keough plays the character Sandy
Harrison, Netflix's 2020 release The Devil All the Time.
